hope everyone had a nice weekend!!!!!!! it has been raining every single day for the past five days. it has not stopped once. hopefully the rain will stop in the next few weeks. i hope your weather is better!!!!

friday night allan and i met the volunteers out for dinner at a restaurant called sweet chili. after dinner we went to a bar. so fun and very good people watching!!!!!!

saturday night a bunch of allans coworkers (who are in town from chicago) came to our hotel (they were staying at the park hyatt) for dinner. we went for chinese food.

thersa is a new girl who started working at the mango house on wednesday. she is from germany and also is a social worker. she will be volunteering for five months. it will be nice to have someone there longer then three months.

i am going to post another group of pictures. most of the pictures are from the mango house. you will see pictures of a birthday party we had for the aug birthdays. like i mentioned in previous blogs, the children do not know the exact date of their birthdays, they are usually just given a date. you will find that some of the children might know there exact birthday but most do not.

it was a very fun day for the children. we sang happy birthday and had birthday cake. we gave the children presents. the two girls got very pretty dresses. the dresses were donated from people in england. the two boys were given a toy airplane and toy animals. they were all so excited and happy.

the other pictures you will see are at the playground of their school. we took the children to the school so we could play relay games with them. you will notice the school in the background of some of the pictures. i took a picture of the classroom so you can see what it is like.

allan cooked us dinner tonight in our kitchen. we found taco mix so we made some chicken tacos. it was so good. we miss mexican food alot. we miss all food.
